Rail Stone Solutions – a company within the GRS Group – is dedicated to delivering the best value solution around materials and logistics for large UK rail infrastructure schemes, with HS2 being the first flagship project.
Through a combination of supply agreements with major primary aggregate producers and a network of approved secondary / recycled suppliers RSS has unparalleled capability to provide outstanding service at competitive prices.
We source the right material for each part of the scheme, deliver it in the most efficient way possible, then collect and process waste materials for reuse. Through the use of rail freight we reduce vehicle miles, congestion and air pollution, achieving the lowest carbon footprint.
UNRIVALLED CAPACITY TO DELIVER
In addition to our extensive supply chain RSS also has access to numerous railheads close to the HS2 route, with the capacity to handle the tens of thousands of tons of material which will be required every day to service the contract. We can also tap into over 200 sources of secondary / recycled materials within 60-miles of HS2 through the long-term relationships developed by GRS.
As part of GRS we operate almost 30 recycling and landfill sites along the route with void space of around 17 million tonnes. And we have access to another 15 million tonnes of space, ensuring we offer the best materials recovery and disposal requirements for any of the enabling works or main construction.
